Do you struggle with addiction?

There are many reasons that drive what we do. When it comes to addiction, at the heart of it, there is something that compels you to “use” even though a part of you doesn’t want to. Over time, this compulsion starts to dominate and gets in the way of the life you want to live.

Perhaps you’ve tried to talk yourself out of it and you’ve probably heard plenty of comments from your loved ones. Maybe you’ve even tried to quit on your own.

Yet things don’t quite change and sometimes getting stuck takes a toll on your relationships, your work and your quality of life.

I’m a Sydney-based registered psychologist who is passionate about treating addictions. The main focus of my practice is treating drug, gambling, gaming, pornography and digital addictions. I use targeted and effective psychotherapies to support your recovery and help you reconnect to your meaningful life.

I only use scientifically supported and evidenced based psychological treatments for your specific addiction or problematic use. Simply put, my treatment is one-on-one therapy, mental training  and support towards managing your addictions. In our counselling sessions,  you will learn and understand how a mind struggling with addiction works, practical recovery skills you can use and long term strategies to rewire your thinking patterns.

For the curious, my treatment approach is based in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing specific to your issue. My practice has clients from Maroubra, Randwick, Kingsford, Kensington, Coogee, Botany and Matraville. It is discreet, convenient and there is plenty of parking nearby.

Credentials: Master of Clinical Psychology (UTS), PhD (Psychology) (UNSW), Bachelor of Psychology (UNSW).

Registration: Medicare Approved Provider, AHPRA (Psychologist with general registration, PSY0002036194)

Pre-Consultation Meeting (Optional)

One of the hardest decisions for someone who is struggling with addiction is deciding to seek therapy. The second hardest is choosing a therapist. A pre-consultation meeting is a chance for us to meet and see if we’re a good fit. It is a non-treatment and non-clinical meeting. You can ask any questions about the treatment, my style or expectations. You’re under no obligation to continue therapy and if we’re not a good fit, I can refer you to someone that I think might be.
